The name of “Andakar” might be familiar to those who live in the South of Jakarta, or probably to those who take Jl. Warung Buncit as their daily route to get to the office. Andakar, stands for Aneka Daging Bakar, first known for its butcher service that provides good quality of red meat located in Duren Tiga. But now Andakar can be found in three location: Duren Tiga, Kemang Food Festival and Jl. Warung Buncit.

When Chandra and I came to Andakar for the first time, we were craving for steak but we’re sort of short of money so we ordered both local Sirloin steak. It turns out to be a disappointment, the meat was very hard to chew and not enjoyable at all, so we blacklisted Andakar from our list of favorite restaurant. But then, a recommendation from a friend to try Andakar’s Iga Bakar and Imported Tenderloin steak has changed our mind and we decided to give Andakar a second try.

Unlike the local Sirloin steak, the imported Tenderloin steak taste quite good and juicy, hence I have no trouble chewing and swallowing the meat For a steak that cost 50K, Andakar’s tenderloin steak was not bad at all. But the highlight of our dinner was the Iga Bakar. The Iga Bakar was offered in two choices, the regular one and the special one; when I asked about the difference between the two, the waitress only mention about the thickness of the meat. Since Chandra was hungry so we ordered the special one (cost around 50K).

The Iga Bakar special consists of three ribs thick with meat that taste soooo delicious. Seriously. But I recommend you to order the original one since the special one is really thick and we couldn’t finish it.

Our last experience has totally changed our perspective about Andakar. Do try the Iga Bakar if you happen to visit the restaurant, totally delicious!
