Kesepakatan Sebelum Mengikat Janji

A very useful article for those who wants to “tie the knots”. Enjoy…

Going Green, are we ready?

Go GreenThe vibe of Going Green has reached one of the biggest fashion retailers in Indonesia. I witnessed this as I saw a girl with a green shopping bag embossed with the brand of this retailer. I’m sure this retailer launches the reusable shopping bag for next time usage. So when customer comes back to the shop for shopping, they can bring this bag with them. It will reduce the shop’s usage of plastic shopping bags or paper bags. But, the question is, will the customer use it next time they visit the store? Are they willing to do the effort of bringing this reusable shopping bag with them?

Unfortunately, as many of us had to admit, the awareness (or just ignorant?) of going green and reduce the plastic usage hasn’t reached our daily life yet. There are many of us - small shops or street vendors or even big ones- still using plastic bags to pack their products. I too sometimes forgot to use my reusable shopping bag when I went to the street vendors to buy food, even when I already brought my shopping bag with me (am I ignorant or just forgetful?). It feels quite strange to me, how forgetful I become, considering that I used to use my reusable bag whenever I went shopping, back then when I was still living alone at KL. No matter how tedious it was just to shove the spacious shopping bag into my hand bag, I would still bring it.

Purchase XXI movie ticket by sms

Getting tired to be stuck in a long queue for a ticket to your favorite movie every weekend? And end up in the front row where you can’t hardly enjoy the movie anyway? So here’s the solution. 21 cineplex has provide movie goers with a new facility called the m-tix.

M-tix is a system to do ticket purchasing via sms to any movie played on the XXI cineplex in three major cities in Indonesia, those are Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya. Since – I think – this project is still in pilot mode, the options are limited to several XXI (notice, that it’s not 21) accross the appointed cities. The steps are simple, you just have to come to the XXI studios, buy a reload card called M-tix wallet and make a 150.000 rupiah deposit. This “wallet” will be valid for a one year period. Then you do some activation and start purchasing ticket via sms.

What happen after booking the ticket? Come to your chosen theater, go to the M-tix booth to print your ticket. It’s quite easy I think. Too bad the counter was closed when I got there. But I think it’s worth it. Considering the time saved and the effectiveness. And of course, the chance to say goodbye to the long-endless queue.

Cross over to the era of electronic transactions ;) Buy movie ticket with M-tix… :D *gosh I really sound like a TV commercial…. *

Where should I take her to?

I have a friend, from my writing class, visiting Jakarta this week. I’m confused where to take her. She’s here for business, but she could go out in the evening. I also have to work, so I can only fetch her after work (which is around 6.00 or 6.30 PM). She’s staying in Mulia hotel.

At first she said she wants to visit a tattoo parlor, Kemang was only I could think of when it comes to tattoo. And then, she said she wants to stroll around to see shops and does windows shopping (or perhaps, real shopping). In the end, she said that visiting tattoo parlor was not compulsory, so that leaves the strolling around shops.

I don’t want to take her to Plaza Senayan or Senayan City. I think she’s bored already with the shops in both malls. So, I’m confused. Where should I take her? Any idea? A place that has several shops with reasonable price? Thank You…
